The voice of Cardiovascular Nurses in Canada:

CCCN is a national professional organization with a board of directors and ten provincial divisions, each with its own executive committee structure, representing a broad constituency of cardiovascular nursing professionals.

Mandate

The Canadian Council of Cardiovascular Nurses, an associate of the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, represents Canadian nurses interested in heart health and/or practicing in the cardiovascular field.

The Council is dedicated to promoting and maintaining high standards of practice relating to cardiovascular health. In order to maintain these standards, a continuing acquisition of knowledge, skills and attitudes is essential.

Objectives

  • Promote, develop and facilitate ongoing professional nursing education in the cardiovascular field;
  • Promote and support cardiovascular nursing research;
  • Promote and participate in the health promotion activities of cardiovascular health;
  • Identify current needs and trends related to cardiovascular nursing;
  • Collaborate with the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada and other interested organizations (provincial, national and international) on issues involving cardiovascular nursing.
